Required qualifications
- Led enterprise procurement and logistics for a division or enterprise generating at least $5B in revenue
- Expert in strategic sourcing, category strategy, vendor economics, supplier management, procure-to-pay, and total cost of ownership
- Proven delivery of large-scale capital procurement supporting multi-year, multi-billion-dollar capital programs in capital-intensive, multi-site, regulated environment (utilities, energy infrastructure, or industrial manufacturing)
- Track record of driving step-change in supply chain performance through people, process, and technology—including deployment of analytics, AI, and modern procurement systems
- Experience navigating tariffs, geopolitical risk, and global commodity volatility with sound contingency planning
About this role
SVP of Supply Chain reporting to the CFO at a major US utility (~$60B multi-year capital plan). Lead enterprise-wide procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, logistics, and nuclear supply chain. Balance capital execution with supply chain transformation, embedding AI-driven decision-making and regulatory rigor across a regulated utility operating nuclear and fossil generation.
Responsibilities
- Translate ~$60B multi-year capital plan into sourcing and supplier-capacity strategy; secure long-lead equipment (transformers, switchgear, turbines, battery storage) and EPC/contractor capacity ahead of need
- Lead strategic supplier partnerships and capacity-reservation arrangements with critical OEMs and EPC partners to convert plan into execution certainty
- Drive standardization of equipment and specifications across capital program to improve cost, schedule, and constructability
- Structure EPC and construction contracting strategies balancing risk-sharing, schedule assurance, and total cost of ownership
- Manage tariff, trade policy, and global commodity volatility exposure across capital portfolio
- Set enterprise supply chain and fleet strategy aligned to business and regulatory goals; design scalable operating model
- Establish and enforce procurement governance, policies, controls, and delegations of authority consistent with regulatory and prudency standards
- Ensure quality assurance, supplier qualification, and long-term assurance for nuclear and safety-critical materials and services
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risk (geopolitical, tariff, supplier-concentration, cyber, disruption) with contingency plans
- Deploy AI and advanced analytics for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, should-cost analysis, and supplier-risk sensing
- Build data foundation (clean spend, supplier, ERP/MRP data) for analytics and AI
- Deliver cost-reduction and value-creation objectives; optimize working capital through payment terms, inventory, and consignment strategies
- Support regulatory cost recovery and prudency through disciplined documentation and total-cost-of-ownership discipline
- Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing organization across bargaining and non-bargaining workforces; build talent succession
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with nuclear or other safety-critical supply chains and heightened regulatory environment
- Experience with Coupa, SAP, or ERP/MRP systems in regulated utility or energy sector
- Background in fleet electrification and Zero-Emission Vehicle strategy
