Superintendent Outage & Process
About this role
Superintendent responsible for developing and executing long-range outage plans and budgets for power plant operations. Manage the Condition Based Outage (CBO) process, Boiler Tube Failure Reduction initiatives, and 5-year capital project planning. This Safety Sensitive position requires strong leadership in managing complex outage scopes, vendor contracts, and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, cost-effective plant operations.
Responsibilities
- —Oversee long-range and detailed planning and execution of unit outages according to the outage stage gate process
- —Manage cost, schedule, and safety processes for outage scopes of work
- —Interface with Plant Management personnel to communicate and drive resolution of key issues impacting projects and outages
- —Coach project managers to deliver expected financial, safety, and schedule results on outage scopes and projects
- —Lead Outage Stage Gate Reviews, ECD/CBO, and 5-year budget planning
- —Oversee and manage LTSA (Long-Term Service Agreement) contracts
- —Participate in plant monthly ROP (Reactor Oversight Process) meetings
- —Understand, negotiate, and influence contract language for vendors and contractors to protect Entergy's interests
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of Power Plant Maintenance related experience. Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in a Project Management leadership role. Knowledge of power plant major component repair, AIMM, ROP, OSGP, Risk Register, Supply Chain and Accounting policies and procedures. EH&S policy knowledge and understanding of Compliance standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley. Knowledge of industry standards related to modification of plant components and engineering standards. Understanding of Condition Based Outage (CBO) process requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Project. Knowledge of ASME codes applicable to large power boilers and steam piping.
Location
Onsite in Beaumont, Orange, or The Woodlands, Texas. 50–75% travel required. Safety Sensitive position requiring mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing.
