Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 0–2 years of environmental compliance experience (Analyst I–II level); 3–5 years (Analyst III level); or 5–6 years (Senior Analyst level). Physically able to conduct field environmental investigations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in team and independent settings.
About this role
Environmental Analyst role at a power generation facility responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, managing environmental permits and documentation, and providing onsite environmental expertise to plant personnel. This position ensures adherence to applicable environmental regulations including wastewater discharge, emissions monitoring, waste management, and spill response.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to plant personnel on environmental issues and regulatory compliance
- Maintain thorough knowledge of site-specific environmental permits and plans
- Provide oversight and project management for plant environmental projects
- Conduct routine plant rounds and inspections to assess environmental compliance and document findings
- Prepare regulatory environmental reports (DMR, EER, SAM, ACC, etc.)
- Maintain required environmental records and documentation per records retention policy
- Deliver environmental training to plant personnel as required by regulations and company procedures
- Provide environmental compliance support for spills and releases, including regulatory notifications
- Manage waste handling, disposal, and manifesting activities per DOT and RCRA requirements
- Monitor continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) and maintain related records
- Coordinate environmental sampling and testing activities
- Participate in work groups supporting new and ongoing projects
- Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities
Preferred qualifications
Experience managing environmental programs in industrial or power generation settings. Experience preparing environmental reports for industrial or power generation facilities (DMRs, EERs, SAM, ACC). Experience managing hazardous materials and hazardous waste shipments per DOT and RCRA requirements. Knowledge of power generation fundamentals.
Location, schedule, and travel
Port Arthur, Texas preferred (Cleveland and Conroe considered). Office-based with minimal physical requirements; up to 25% travel; available for periodic overtime and emergency response work. Safety Sensitive position requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
