Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 5–10 years of nuclear industry engineering experience; fluent English and German; strong team collaboration and communication skills
About this role
Senior Mechanical Engineer leading nuclear decommissioning and field application projects at Westinghouse's Mannheim facility. Design and specify dismantling equipment, prepare licensing documentation, optimize field operations, and report directly to the Project Director.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and plan nuclear dismantling projects from engineering perspective
- Specify, design, and apply equipment utilizing and adapting existing technology
- Prepare product documentation and licensing compliance materials per applicable regulations
- Develop field implementation procedures and work plans with operations teams
- Process and monitor engineering changes through integrated change control procedures
- Support Project Manager with cost forecasts, progress evaluations, and stakeholder communications
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Identify improvement opportunities and capture lessons learned
Preferred qualifications
Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
