Software/Automation Engineer

Design and develop control software and systems for remotely operated equipment used in nuclear power plant repairs. Work on the full lifecycle of innovative tools—from concept through testing and field deployment—as part of Westinghouse's design team in Mannheim. Support FOAK (First-Of-A-Kind) projects and drive products from prototype to maturity.

Design and develop control software, graphic user interfaces, and control systems for equipment used in repair of critical nuclear power plant components. Integrate electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components into fully functional systems. Support development, testing, and qualification of new equipment, including participation in customer reviews and on-site activities. Perform commissioning of new equipment at internal or supplier facilities. Prepare comprehensive project documentation such as Work Instructions, Development Programs, Test Reports, and Bills of Materials. Provide ongoing support for existing products, including troubleshooting and technician training. Collaborate across departments, sites, and international teams.

Minimum 3 years of experience in development, design, and testing of specialized electromechanical equipment. German language proficiency (mother tongue or C2-level) in speaking and writing. English language proficiency (minimum B1, B2 preferred) in speaking and writing. At least one high-level programming language. Knowledge of electrical components.

Experience with Step7-SCL (PLC), Object Pascal (GUI), or C++ (Microcontroller). Hydraulic systems knowledge. French language proficiency in speaking and writing.
