Senior Reactor Operator
About this role
Constellation is recruiting Initial License Trainees to become NRC-licensed Senior Reactor Operators (SRO) at Dresden Nuclear Station in Morris, IL. You'll complete comprehensive classroom and on-the-job training to qualify as an Operations Shift Supervisor responsible for supervising licensed reactor operators in the control room of a BWR facility.
Responsibilities
- —Attend Initial License Training (ILT) including classroom training, NRC examinations, and on-the-job training and evaluation
- —Successfully complete all phases of training to obtain an NRC SRO license
- —Perform duties as Operations Shift Supervisor, directly supervising licensed reactor operators and equipment operators
- —Execute emergency response duties, departmental coverage, on-call responsibilities, and support outage activities as directed by management
Qualifications
- —High school diploma/GED
- —One year Reactor Operator license at a comparable facility (PWR to PWR or BWR to BWR) OR 1.5 years at a noncomparable facility (PWR to BWR or BWR to PWR); OR 1.5+ years in military reactor position equivalent to Reactor Operator or Supervisor (Power Plant Watch Engineer, Engineering Watch Supervisor, Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor, etc.); OR 4-year degree in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences with 1.5+ years as qualified non-licensed operator or staff/supervisor in work control, operations, engineering, outage management, maintenance, radiation protection, chemistry, or accredited training at comparable facility; OR current/previous SRO Instructor certification with 4 years experience at comparable facility or 6 years at noncomparable facility
- —Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements per 10 CFR 73.56
- —Pass favorable medical examination and testing per position duties
Location
Dresden Nuclear Station, Morris, IL. Shift-based operations role with extended hours pay at 1.5x base salary for mandated operational shift coverage. Initial License Training class begins August 2027.
