Senior Reactor Operator
About this role
Constellation seeks Initial License Trainees to become NRC-licensed Senior Reactor Operators (SROs) at Clinton Nuclear Power Station. You'll complete comprehensive Initial License Training (classroom, exams, on-the-job training, and evaluations) to obtain your NRC SRO license and supervise reactor operations and licensed operators in the control room.
Responsibilities
- —Attend and successfully complete Initial License Training (ILT) including classroom instruction, NRC examinations, on-the-job training, and performance evaluations
- —Obtain NRC Senior Reactor Operator license
- —Perform duties of Operations Shift Supervisor upon licensure, supervising licensed reactor operators and equipment operators in the control room
- —Respond to emergency situations, support departmental coverage and call-outs, and provide outage support as assigned
Qualifications
- —High school diploma or GED
- —One of the following: (1) 1 year Reactor Operator license at comparable facility (PWR-to-PWR or BWR-to-BWR); (2) 1.5 years at non-comparable facility; (3) 1.5+ years as Power Plant Watch Engineer or Reactor Operator at military reactor; (4) 4-year degree in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences plus 1.5+ years as qualified non-licensed operator or supervisor at comparable facility; or (5) Current/previous SRO Instructor certification with 4+ years at comparable facility
- —Maintain minimum or unescorted facility access requirements
- —Pass favorable medical examination and/or testing per position requirements
Desired
- —Professional Engineer (PE) license
- —Experience in work control, operations, engineering, outage management, maintenance, radiation protection, or chemistry
Location
Clinton, Illinois; shift-based operations with extended hours; relocation assistance may be offered
