Senior Reactor Operator
About this role
Constellation is recruiting Initial License Trainees to become licensed Senior Reactor Operators (SRO) at LaSalle Nuclear Station in Illinois. You will complete comprehensive NRC-mandated training including classroom instruction, examinations, and on-the-job training to obtain your SRO license, then supervise reactor operations and licensed staff in the control room.
Responsibilities
- —Attend Initial License Training (ILT) including classroom training, examinations, and on-the-job training and evaluation
- —Successfully complete all phases of training and pass NRC examination to obtain SRO license
- —Perform duties as Operations Shift Supervisor, supervising licensed reactor operators in the control room
- —Supervise bargaining unit reactor operators and equipment operators during shift operations
- —Respond to emergency situations and support refueling outage activities as assigned
- —Execute other job assignments and duties as directed by management or company policy
Qualifications
- —High school diploma or GED
- —One of the following: (1) 1 year Reactor Operator license at comparable facility (PWR to PWR or BWR to BWR); (2) 1.5 years at non-comparable facility (PWR to BWR or BWR to PWR); (3) 1.5+ years in equivalent Reactor Operator or Supervisor position at military reactor; (4) 4-year engineering/engineering technology/physical sciences degree plus 1.5+ years as qualified non-licensed operator or staff member at comparable facility; (5) Current or previous SRO Instructor certification with 4 years comparable or 6 years non-comparable facility experience
- —Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements per NRC regulations
- —Pass favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Desired
- —Professional engineer (PE) license
- —Experience in work control, operations, engineering, outage management, maintenance, radiation protection, or chemistry
Location
LaSalle Nuclear Station, Marseilles, Illinois; on-site position; Initial License Training class begins March 2027; extended shift coverage with mandated operational shift requirements
