Radiation Protection Operations Supervisor
About this role
First-line supervisor of Radiation Protection Operations personnel at an Entergy nuclear facility. Manages daily RP operations, staff (including union and contractors), budget, and regulatory compliance while ensuring safe and efficient work execution.
Responsibilities
- —Supervise full-time and temporary Radiation Protection Operations personnel
- —Oversee daily RP Operations tasks and on-shift activities
- —Manage multi-disciplined groups including union and contractor oversight
- —Ensure all RP activities comply with regulatory and procedural guidelines
- —Manage personnel, resolve employee conflicts and concerns
- —Assist in RP budget development and stay within budget
- —Communicate with all organizational levels and represent the department at meetings
- —Propose time-saving tooling and work methods
- —Interface with other Entergy sites to maximize RP personnel resource sharing
- —Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities
- —Communicate technical Radiation Protection information verbally and in writing
- —Participate in the shared resources program
- —Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; 4 years of experience in the craft or discipline supervised; at least 5 years of experience in RP Operations; technical proficiency in the RP Operations area; technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation; proficiency with current computer business applications; compliance with ANSI/ANS-3.1-1978 Section 4.3.2 requirements for supervisors not requiring NRC license
Desired
B.S. in Health Physics or related technical degree (may substitute for 3 years of experience)
Location
Onsite in Killona, Louisiana; up to 25% travel; must be available for additional hours and alternate locations for storms, outages, and emergencies.
