About this role

Lead a team of procurement specialists at Entergy's nuclear and fossil power generation sites, managing the sourcing and contracting of critical services, spare parts, and materials essential to safe plant operations. This hybrid role requires extensive supply chain expertise to develop procurement strategies, negotiate commercial terms, and mentor a diverse team while interfacing across multiple business departments including Operations, Engineering, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a professional team of procurement specialists in contracting and purchasing activities for power generation facilities
  • Develop, lead, and negotiate contracting and purchasing strategies aligned with market conditions and regulatory requirements
  • Assess services and materials requests, determine appropriate sourcing channels, and execute procurement methods compliant with nuclear/fossil standards
  • Coordinate pre-award contract development and post-award contract administration
  • Create and lead RFx bid processes and develop negotiation strategies with optimal pricing methodology
  • Perform market and financial analyses to assess supplier and contract business risk
  • Identify and evaluate new and current sources of supply, including small, local, and diverse suppliers
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (Power Generation, Finance, Risk Management, Legal, etc.) and external suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with savings documentation, diversity requirements, bidding standards, contractor safety, NRC requirements, and document retention
  • Deliver and document cost savings through competitive bidding, negotiations, and cost avoidance
  • Implement process improvements and change management initiatives for efficiency gains
  • Promote strong safety behaviors and monitor suppliers for safety and quality concerns
  • Perform storm response duties as assigned
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance team efficiency and capacity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline, OR 12+ years of experience in contracting, vendor management, and procurement transactions
  • 8+ years of experience in contracting, vendor management, or procurement (if degree-qualified)
  • 3+ years of supervisory or equivalent leadership experience

Desired

  • Deep understanding of Entergy's business model and key interfaces across the organization, particularly Power Generation operations
  • Experience procuring for nuclear or regulated power generation facilities
  • Extensive application of contracting and purchasing processes and complex procurement strategies
  • Proficiency leading negotiation strategy development and supporting contract negotiations
  • Deep knowledge of pre- and post-award contract management processes
  • Strong understanding of business law and commercial terms and conditions
  • Extensive knowledge of Entergy's supply chain systems, operations, and procurement practices (HEBAP)
  • Deep technical skills in contract management, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency in supplier performance management and quality assurance

Location

Hybrid role; serves Entergy's Power Generation sites (nuclear and fossil facilities) with travel as needed for supplier visits and field assessments.
