About this role

The DSA Engineer II will be responsible for developing methods and performing analyses to demonstrate that the SMR-300 satisfies its safety and licensing requirements. These types of analyses include evaluations of the reactor core, reactor coolant system, engineered safety features, containment, and radiological releases associated with anticipated operational occurrences (AOOs) and design basis accidents (DBAs). Additionally, the DSA group is responsible for the development, verification, and validation of the computer codes used in these analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform deterministic safety analyses to demonstrate that the SMR-300 reactor meets applicable safety and licensing requirements.
  • Evaluate reactor behavior during anticipated operational occurrences (AOOs) and design basis accidents (DBAs), including thermal-hydraulic response, core performance, and radiological consequences.
  • Analyze key plant systems such as the reactor core, reactor coolant system, engineered safety features, and containment.
  • Support the preparation of licensing documentation, including safety analysis reports and responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Develop, maintain, and apply analytical methods and computer models used in safety analyses.
  • Perform verification and validation (V&V) of analysis codes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate design inputs into safety evaluations.
