About this role

At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered. The Technology Engineer supports the Nuclear Real-Time Systems (Operations Technology) team. The role is involved in the full system life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application software and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes end-user needs and designs, develops and tests solutions to satisfy demand.
  • Partners with business analysts to translate business requirements to application requirements.
  • Creates process flowcharts, diagrams, and other related documentation.
  • Develops technical workflows using different modeling techniques Ensures that the design and system implementation meets security and QA standards.
  • Suggests fixes to issues by doing a thorough analysis of root cause and impact of the defect Analyzes system reports to ensure that the functionality and performance meets all product and service level requirements.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers, desktops, networks (Cisco), operating systems, and virtual hosts using a disciplined development process.
  • Works on tasks that require skills in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area.
  • Support engineering modifications, technical evaluations, and OT fleet peer-group collaboration.
  • Applies operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities until permanent solutions can be implemented.
  • Supports and participates in the maintenance of plant process computers, physical security systems, and other nuclear OT systems.
