Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, industrial engineering, or equivalent technical degree accredited in Spain
  • 3+ years of experience in project and construction management or within nuclear facilities
  • Experience in construction or site management
  • Experience in civil engineering calculations, structural modifications, and application of nuclear civil regulations
  • Proficiency in ANSYS and PLAXIS for structural/geotechnical calculations
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software (Presto or Arquímedes)
  • Fluency in Spanish (must speak and write perfectly)
  • Fluency in English with reporting skills
  • Valid driving license

About this role

Waste Characterization and Disposal (WC&D) Civil Engineer at Westinghouse providing engineering services for radioactive waste treatment, storage, and nuclear safety projects. You will work on characterization and acceptance of nuclear waste from operating plants and decommissioning projects, manage system/facility requirements for waste management, and support process optimization programs at our Madrid headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering documents including calculations, construction project plans, licensing documents, and procurement specifications
  • Develop health and safety plans/studies for civil or system projects
  • Develop and manage system/facility requirements for waste management and support process optimization programs
  • Participate in proposal preparation including technical descriptions, effort calculations, and client requirement identification
  • Conduct meetings with suppliers during pre-design, specification development, and fabrication stages
  • Oversee assembly and testing of design modifications
  • Provide on-site support to clients to resolve waste treatment system problems
  • Evaluate, follow up, and approve supplier documentation
  • Participate in international project teams

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention
  • Willingness to travel
