Transient Analysis - Senior Engineer
About this role
Senior Transient Analysis Engineer at Westinghouse leading design basis safety analysis for non-LOCA transients and plant-specific licensing evaluations. Develop thermal-hydraulic models, manage reload safety evaluations, establish licensing basis documentation, and serve as technical expert for internal and external customers on safety analysis inquiries.
Responsibilities
- —Lead development and assessment of thermal-hydraulic models for safety analysis calculations consistent with NRC regulatory requirements
- —Lead reload safety evaluations for each plant cycle and establish/maintain plant-specific licensing basis
- —Serve as primary point of contact for plant-specific Safety Analysis inquiries from internal and external customers
- —Lead evaluation of impacts from plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- —Lead project teams, provide technical guidance to engineers and peers, and develop training on significant technical projects
- —Prepare technical documents, licensing submittals, and deliver presentations on project status and problem resolution
- —Identify business growth opportunities and support development of new products and services
Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering; minimum 5 years of applicable nuclear safety analysis experience; ability to develop and deliver technical presentations.
Desired
Interest in software programming and code development.
Location
Hybrid (2 days per week onsite) in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
