Transient Analysis - Principal Engineer
About this role
Principal Transient Analysis Engineer at Westinghouse leading design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, with focus on non-LOCA transients. You will direct thermal-hydraulic modeling, plant reload safety evaluations, licensing basis analyses, and technical leadership for reactor safety projects at the Cranberry Township headquarters.
Responsibilities
- —Lead development and assessment of thermal-hydraulic models to perform safety analysis calculations consistent with NRC regulatory requirements
- —Lead reload safety evaluations for each plant cycle and plant-specific licensing basis analyses
- —Serve as technical point of contact for plant-specific safety analysis inquiries from internal and external customers
- —Lead evaluation of impacts from plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- —Lead project teams and provide technical direction to other engineers
- —Integrate and develop technical descriptions to support customer proposals
- —Develop procedures, processes, and methods for implementing technical requirements
- —Prepare technical documents and deliver presentations on project status, problem resolution, and engineering recommendations
Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering. Minimum 8 years of applicable nuclear safety analysis experience. Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations on project status, problem resolution, and engineering recommendations.

Interest in software programming and code development.
Location
