Transient Analysis - Engineer II
About this role
Design basis safety analysis engineer for nuclear reactors at Westinghouse. Develop thermal-hydraulic models and perform accident analysis (Non-LOCA, LOCA, containment integrity) for plant-specific licensing evaluations and reload safety assessments.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and assess models and correlations for prediction of two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena
- —Perform nuclear reactor safety analysis and develop analysis methodologies for design basis accidents (Non-LOCA, LOCA, containment)
- —Perform reload safety evaluations for each plant cycle
- —Maintain awareness of plant-specific licensing basis and analyses of record
- —Serve as technical contact for plant-specific non-LOCA and containment analysis inquiries from internal and external customers
- —Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- —Develop and deliver technical presentations on project status, problem resolution, and engineering recommendations
Qualifications
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering. Minimum 5 years of engineering experience or equivalent. Experience performing accident/safety analysis in comparable nuclear engineering field. Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles.
