About this role
Temporary custodian position supporting Salem Nuclear Station outage operations. Maintains RCA (Radiologically Controlled Area) and non-RCA buildings including offices, locker rooms, and bathrooms. Requires nuclear site unescorted access clearance and willingness to work in radiological controlled areas with appropriate PPE.
Responsibilities
- —Sweep, mop, and clean floors, walls, windows, ceilings, stairways, and furniture in buildings, offices, locker rooms, and bathrooms
- —Clean and disinfect floors and facilities in locker rooms and bathrooms
- —Operate laundry machines and floor scrubbing equipment, including vacuum cleaners
- —Clean and perform minor repairs to building cleaning equipment
- —Distribute lavatory supplies and sort/dispose of papers, trash, and refuse
- —Work in contaminated and radiological controlled areas as required, wearing appropriate personal protection equipment
- —Operate company passenger cars and pickup trucks
- —Learn and apply approved safety procedures including artificial respiration techniques
- —Perform all duties according to company safety policy and nuclear site procedures
Qualifications
- —Valid driver's license for New Jersey operation
- —Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- —Able to follow instructions and perform routine work
- —Must obtain Unescorted Site Access clearance for nuclear facility
- —Pass background investigation including fingerprint and criminal history checks
- —Pass reference checks and education/employment verification
- —Pass physical examination and psychological assessment
- —Complete nuclear plant access training and Fitness for Duty requirements (pre-placement and random drug/alcohol testing)
- —U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or citizen/national/permanent resident of a "Generally Authorized" destination per 10 CFR 810
Location
Onsite at Salem Nuclear Station, New Jersey. Temporary position for outage duration with potential assignment to emergency restoration efforts on non-standard schedules.
