Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, Electrical, or related field)
- 12+ years of related experience in nuclear engineering
- Engineering knowledge and leadership experience as a Technical Lead or Project Manager
- In-depth knowledge of Transient Analysis or Containment Analysis applications and tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering efforts on projects at the discipline level
- Proven ability to mentor and lead a team of engineers in execution of complex tasks
About this role
Lead Westinghouse's Containment Analysis technical strategy across Gen II and AP nuclear plants. Direct a team of engineers on steamline break analysis, containment integrity, and subcompartment studies—bridging internal teams, utilities, and regulators to solve complex nuclear safety challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of project scope definitions and cost estimates for Containment Analysis activities
- Provide technical direction for operating and new plant applications during proposal and execution phases
- Oversee internal and external resources to ensure analysis processes comply with regulatory requirements
- Provide technical oversight to resolve problems and manage FOAK (First-Of-A-Kind) application direction
- Support training and troubleshooting; ensure quality and consistency of deliverables
- Establish mentorship relationships with deputies and junior engineers; develop next-generation subject matter experts
- Lead incorporation of new analysis methods and tools into active projects while maintaining licensing and regulatory commitments
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to resolve complex technical issues
- Coordinate with Nuclear Fuels and interface groups; engage utilities performing downstream work to prevent implementation challenges
- Participate in schedule reviews, workforce planning, progress reviews, and customer workshops
- Maintain visibility and accountability across project teams and leadership to support execution and customer satisfaction
