Technical Engineering Lead, AP1000 Non-LOCA
About this role
Lead technical strategy and execution for AP1000 Non-LOCA safety analyses across operating plants and new reactor development programs (AP300/APX). Serve as primary point of contact for all Non-LOCA activities, managing cross-functional engineering teams, resolving complex technical issues, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting NRC regulatory submissions and international new plant licensing applications.
Responsibilities
- —Lead development of project scope definitions and cost estimates for AP1000 Non-LOCA analyses
- —Resolve standing technical issues and manage FOAK (First-Of-A-Kind) elements for AP1000/AP300 with Nuclear Fuels coordination
- —Guide alignment for new methodology, advanced fuel concepts, high burnup/enrichment, and improved analytical tools
- —Provide technical direction for operating plant and new plant applications during proposal and execution phases
- —Oversee engineering teams to ensure application of design control requirements and resolution of legacy issues
- —Support issue troubleshooting and ensure quality and consistency of deliverables
- —Establish mentorship relationships with deputies and junior engineers
- —Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to resolve complex technical issues
- —Lead incorporation of new analysis methods and tools into active projects while maintaining regulatory consistency
- —Ensure project execution and analytical products comply with current NRC regulatory requirements
- —Support new plant regulatory applications across international markets (Poland, Bulgaria, Netherlands)
- —Participate in schedule reviews, workforce planning, progress reviews, and customer workshops
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, Electrical, or related discipline)
- —12+ years of related experience in nuclear engineering
- —Engineering knowledge and leadership experience as a Technical Lead or Project Manager
- —In-depth knowledge of Transient Analysis or Containment Analysis applications and tools
- —Demonstrated ability to lead engineering efforts at the discipline level on projects
- —Ability to mentor and lead a team of engineers on complex tasks
