Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of applicable experience in drawing review, design, and systems
- Data acquisition hardware and software knowledge
- Entry-level knowledge of circuit designs to support custom cables and interfaces
- Knowledge of Data Acquisition systems consisting of servers, workstations, controllers, I/O modules or boards
- Experience with ACAD and 3D modeling
- Drawing review experience
- Experience with Cisco switches
- Experience with servers and workstations
About this role
Design, integrate, and document Plant Process Computer Systems for nuclear power plants. Develop custom hardware adapters, cabinet layouts, and system interfaces that transition existing plant equipment to new computer systems while maintaining nuclear safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform review of hardware design including system architecture, network layout, cabinet design, system cabling interface, custom panel and kit design, and cabinet power design
- Review data acquisition designs including interface cabling and custom adapter designs
- Design custom adapters, cabling, and interfaces to transition existing plant equipment to new computer equipment
- Assist with cabinet layout and design incorporating power distribution, network distribution, network equipment, data acquisition equipment, and servers
- Participate in set-up, system modification, system integration, testing, and delivery of projects
- Understand and implement quality standards applicable to nuclear safety systems
- Prepare documentation required by customers to maintain systems after delivery
- Travel and work with local customers as needed
Preferred qualifications
Experience with RTP data acquisition systems or similar
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite at Huntsville, AL; willing to travel to work with local customers
