Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 1–3 years of applicable experience in drawing review, design, and systems
  • Data acquisition hardware and software experience
  • Entry-level knowledge of circuit designs to support custom cables and interfaces
  • Knowledge of Data Acquisition systems (Servers, workstations, controllers, I/O modules or boards)

About this role

Support Westinghouse's nuclear energy mission as a System Engineer reviewing hardware designs, data acquisition systems, and cabinet architecture for nuclear safety systems. This role involves design reviews, system integration testing, and ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform review of hardware design including system architecture, network layout, cabinet design, system cabling interface, custom panel and kit design, and cabinet power design
  • Review data acquisition designs including interface cabling and custom adapter designs
  • Learn and understand component selection to meet system needs and contract deliverables
  • Participate in set-up, system modification, system integration and testing, and delivery of projects
  • Understand and implement quality standards applicable to nuclear safety systems
  • Travel and work with local customers as needed

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with ACAD and 3D modeling
  • Drawing review experience
  • Experience with Cisco switches
  • Experience with RTP data acquisition systems
  • Experience with Servers and workstations

Huntsville, AL; hybrid arrangement; travel required.
