Supplier Quality Engineer
About this role
Supplier Quality Engineer supporting Westinghouse's AP1000 Nuclear Steam Supply System. Conduct audits, assessments, and inspections at supplier facilities providing ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code materials and components for nuclear safety-related applications. Report to Sr. Manager of Supplier Quality NSSS.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and implement supplier surveillance and oversight plans to ensure compliance with quality and technical standards
- —Perform independent assessments to confirm suppliers maintain effective quality management systems for nuclear safety-related and ASME B&PV Code Section III materials and components
- —Resolve supplier quality issues that adversely impact product quality
- —Monitor progress toward established quality goals within budgetary and schedule constraints
- —Create certification documents identifying procurement requirements met by purchased materials and equipment
- —Lead assessments of the global supply base for compliance with applicable NRC regulations, codes, and standards
- —Evaluate supplier quality plans and processes to verify compliance with Westinghouse Engineering requirements
- —Apply advanced quality control techniques and statistical methods to identify failure causes, trends, and measure supplier QA program effectiveness
- —Write detailed segments of QA plans and programs according to NRC, Westinghouse, and customer QA standards
- —Implement policies on scope and retention requirements of quality assurance documentation
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- —0–2+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Professional or similar role
- —Competency with generating, reviewing, approving, and archiving electronic quality documents and records
Desired
- —Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and specialized testing equipment (IM&TE)
Location
Hybrid in Cranberry Township, PA (3 days on-site per week); 40–50% travel required
