About this role
Supplier Quality Engineer supporting Westinghouse's AP1000 Nuclear Steam Supply System. Conduct audits, assessments, and inspections at supplier facilities providing ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code materials and components for nuclear safety-related applications. Report to Sr. Manager of Supplier Quality NSSS.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supplier surveillance and oversight plans to ensure compliance with quality and technical standards
- Perform independent assessments to confirm suppliers maintain effective quality management systems for nuclear safety-related and ASME B&PV Code Section III materials and components
- Resolve supplier quality issues that adversely impact product quality
- Monitor progress toward established quality goals within budgetary and schedule constraints
- Create certification documents identifying procurement requirements met by purchased materials and equipment
- Lead assessments of the global supply base for compliance with applicable NRC regulations, codes, and standards
- Evaluate supplier quality plans and processes to verify compliance with Westinghouse Engineering requirements
- Apply advanced quality control techniques and statistical methods to identify failure causes, trends, and measure supplier QA program effectiveness
- Write detailed segments of QA plans and programs according to NRC, Westinghouse, and customer QA standards
- Implement policies on scope and retention requirements of quality assurance documentation
Preferred qualifications
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and specialized testing equipment (IM&TE)
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid in Cranberry Township, PA (3 days on-site per week); 40–50% travel required
