Supplier Performance Engineer
About this role
Manage supplier relationships and performance for Westinghouse's AP1000 nuclear reactor program in Europe, with focus on Poland. Conduct supplier assessments, lead qualification activities for complex metal work components, develop oversight plans, and ensure compliance with nuclear quality standards (NQA-1, ASME, ISO) and technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- —Conduct supplier assessments evaluating capabilities for complex technical products, manufacturing resources, and compliance with Westinghouse quality and nuclear standards requirements
- —Lead supplier development and qualification activities for new products and cost reduction efforts, including risk identification, schedule management, approval of supplier process documents, and process capability analyses
- —Evaluate procurement risk and develop Oversight Plans; define Witness and Hold points during manufacturing and oversee main supplier operations
- —Manage flow down of Quality and Technical requirements to suppliers (NQA-1, ISO, Design Specifications, Approved Processes)
- —Guide supplier performance through scorecards/dashboards and develop Performance Improvement Plans for poor performance trends
- —Oversee Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process including cause analyses and verification of corrective actions
- —Lead and escalate quality events, coordinating activities and identifying partners for prompt resolution
- —Coordinate supplier documentation reviews by appropriate Westinghouse functions including Supplier Non-Conformance Reports
- —Provide regular progress reports to Project Managers and Program Directors
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical or Material Engineering; Fluent in Polish and English; 3–5 years of experience in supplier management or performance engineering; Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs; Experience leading multiple projects; Experience with nuclear products and standards (ASME); Experience with NDE/NDT processes; Knowledge of Design-To-Manufacturing and Manufacturing Readiness Level processes; Experience performing process capability analysis and qualification
Desired
Personal, industrial, and nuclear safety as an important area of concern; Experience with US standards and norms (ASME, AWS); Experience in large projects execution
Location
Workshop-based in Europe (Poland focus) with up to 25% travel to supplier sites; hybrid work model with flexible working time
