Interconnection Engineer
About this role
Westinghouse is seeking an Interconnection Engineer to manage grid interconnection engineering for clean energy projects. In this 1-year contract role, you'll review Power Purchase Agreements and Interconnection Agreements, assess design/schedule impacts, and coordinate technical submissions with Transmission Owners, ISOs, and utility partners to enable grid connection and Commercial Operation.
Responsibilities
- —Review and assess draft Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Interconnection Agreements (IAs) for assigned regions; evaluate impact on project design and schedule
- —Interface with Transmission Owners, Operators, ISOs (including CAISO, ERCOT), and PPA clients to align deliverables for physical connection, synchronization, and Commercial Operation Date (COD)
- —Monitor and track changes in interconnection processes and tariffs; manage deliverables and milestones across corporate, engineering, construction, and commissioning teams
- —Work with engineering teams to ensure PPA and IA technical requirements are met in plant design and coordinate all interconnection submittals
Qualifications
- —Knowledge of ISO tariffs, pro forma and non-pro forma contracts, and NERC/FERC technical standards for transmission and generation interconnection
- —Familiarity with interconnection processes in CAISO and ERCOT
- —Demonstrated experience with technical contract review and contract interpretation in the electric power grid industry
- —Ability to coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders
Desired
Electrical Engineering degree with emphasis in Power Systems Engineering; professional experience with interconnection engineering
Location
Remote or Juno Beach, FL; 1-year W-2 contract assignment
