Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in engineering/manufacturing
- Experience in Power Generation, Nuclear, or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including precision machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE and inspection, and testing
- Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs
- Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
About this role
Westinghouse Supplier Performance Engineer II provides on-site oversight of nuclear component fabrication at supplier facilities, ensuring compliance with technical and quality requirements for structural and mechanical components used in nuclear reactors. This role requires regular travel to supplier locations and cross-functional coordination to manage manufacturing activities, quality compliance, and vendor performance metrics.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site supplier oversight at fabrication facilities to ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved
- Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans directing critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance points, inspections, and tests
- Coordinate activities across Westinghouse functions including Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight
- Identify and escalate supplier issues, risks, and quality events, guiding resolution through corrective action implementation
- Monitor supplier performance metrics including Quality issues and Deviation Notices to identify trends and implement causal analysis and Supplier Improvement Plans
- Evaluate procurement risk and develop security of supply risk mitigation plans
- Manage internal and external corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying completion of preventative and corrective actions
