Supervisor IT Information Services Business Analysis | Palo Verde
About this role
Supervise the business analysis function at APS's Palo Verde nuclear station, leading a team of business analysts who translate operational requirements into IT solutions for safety-critical systems. This role bridges technology implementation with nuclear plant operations to ensure systems support safe and reliable reactor operations.
Responsibilities
- —Lead and coach business analysts in translating nuclear plant operational needs into practical IT solutions
- —Partner with IT, operations, and business stakeholders to design system improvements and oversee implementation for safety-critical applications
- —Conduct requirements gathering meetings, workshops, and stakeholder interviews across plant programs
- —Oversee process mapping, requirements documentation, user acceptance testing, and change readiness for plant systems
- —Serve as liaison between plant customers and IT delivery/development teams
- —Apply business process modeling to identify stakeholder needs and develop current/future process models for plant operations
- —Manage team costs within approved budget and improve department processes
- —Lead technical issue resolution for plant-critical systems by identifying, recommending, and implementing solutions
- —Coordinate with training teams to deliver end-user training for new projects and major application enhancements
- —Develop and retain skilled technical team through performance management and professional development
- —Support Palo Verde IT software license renewals and O&M budgeting
- —Balance team workload across active projects, operational support, and system enhancements
- —Support unit-level strategic plans aligned with corporate and IT objectives
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business, or related field from an accredited college/university plus six (6) years of experience as a business analyst or similar role; OR combination of education and experience totaling 10 years
- —Demonstrated leadership skills
- —Experience supporting all phases of IT project lifecycle from conception through close
- —Strong understanding of application support, system implementations, and system enhancements
- —Ability to guide teams through requirements gathering, testing, and change management
- —Collaborative leadership style with clear communication and organizational skills
- —Ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping teams aligned

- —Demonstrated high-quality oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- —Strong interpersonal and people management skills
- —Project management experience
- —Strong interpersonal skills for engaging all levels of management and front-line personnel
- —Understanding of APS's organizational and operating structure
- —Familiarity with business units supported by IT and the services they deliver
- —Experience in Agile roles (Product Owner, SCRUM Master, SCRUM Team member)
Location
Onsite at Palo Verde nuclear station; may be called upon to serve as Emergency Response Organization member and support refueling or short-notice outages including line roles as necessary.
