About this role
Lead digital transformation initiatives at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (Arizona's largest power plant) as Manager of Information Technology. Oversee a cross-functional technology team delivering AI/ML, data analytics, and automation solutions that modernize reactor operations, improve decision-making, and strengthen plant reliability while maintaining alignment with nuclear industry cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- —Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional technology team delivering digital solutions that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and data-driven decision-making at the nuclear facility
- —Partner with plant business units to identify priorities, translate operational needs into digital capabilities, and deliver solutions that create measurable operational value
- —Lead planning, prioritization, and execution of Palo Verde Digital Transformation initiatives aligned to APS and nuclear industry strategic objectives
- —Translate business needs into technology-enabled solutions, including AI/ML, data analytics, and automation capabilities for reactor operations and plant management
- —Oversee design, development, and deployment of AI/ML, digital experience, business intelligence, and advanced analytics solutions
- —Oversee Palo Verde data architecture, integration, and pipeline development in coordination with data engineering teams
- —Guide design and implementation of new technologies while ensuring seamless integration with existing Palo Verde systems and regulatory compliance
- —Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and solution providers supporting digital transformation
- —Ensure digital initiatives align with enterprise transformation goals, nuclear cybersecurity expectations, and NRC/industry compliance requirements
- —Manage financial planning, vendor coordination, and resource allocation to deliver results responsibly and efficiently
- —Develop unit-level strategic plans that support corporate and information systems plans
- —Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- —BS in Computer Science, Business, or related degree OR equivalent work experience
- —8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in information and communication systems, operating systems, network communications, equipment, and infrastructure
- —Demonstrated leadership skills and supervisory experience
- —High-quality oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- —Strong interpersonal and people management skills
- —Demonstrated experience in project management
- —Extensive experience in development, integration, and support of information and communication systems applications in distributed and mainframe environments
- —Extensive experience in network architecture, server architectures, and cross-platform interfaces
- —Extensive experience in information systems methodologies, systems guidelines, architectures, and technologies
- —Ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders to prioritize work and translate needs into practical technology solutions
- —Strong understanding of integrating new digital tools with existing systems while maintaining reliability, security, and compliance
- —U.S. person status (U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) required for export control compliance
