Required qualifications
- Actively enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university undergraduate program in an Civil engineering discipline or related applied science discipline.
- Approved Engineer degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural. (A four-year bachelor of Engineering Technology degree is not considered an automatic equivalent for a B.S. degree in Engineering.
- A review of the degree program curriculum must be completed by Engineering department management.) Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.
About this role
APS is looking for full time ABET Accredited Engineering students who can help guide our business forward! Students who are interested in experiencing, practicing and learning business, engineering, information systems and fundamentals in real work settings. The Palo Verde Summer internship is a paid 10 week program.

Preferred qualifications
- Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications: Minimum GPA of 3.2 Actively enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university undergraduate Civil Engineering program Knowledge and ability to apply basic discipline engineering principles Practices and theories and use commonly applied engineering approaches and calculations Problem analysis/resolution techniques Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline Major Accountabilities 1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs.
- May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies 2) Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews.
- Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations 3) Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments 4) Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments 5) Performs other related duties as required Nuclear requirement Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
- Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
- This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
- These are a condition of employment at PVGS.
