Supervisor, GIC Engineering Controls
About this role
Supervise 10+ configuration and requirements management engineers supporting AP1000, AP300, eVinci, and legacy nuclear control systems at Westinghouse. Direct integrated systems engineering processes including configuration management, requirements management, and verification/validation across multiple reactor control subsystems.
Responsibilities
- —Supervise 10+ exempt-level engineers; manage performance, hiring, firing, and promotion decisions
- —Direct the Integrated Systems Engineering process including configuration management, requirements management, and verification/validation across multiple subsystems
- —Manage requirements development environment in IBM DOORS
- —Oversee technical design creation and coordinate changes across multi-discipline groups
- —Develop complex project definitions, select sources, and monitor results
- —Identify resource needs, develop justifications, and manage department budgets and business plans
- —Provide cross-functional technical support for product development, project implementation, marketing, and sales
- —Establish and maintain positive internal and external customer relationships
- —Develop and guide technical processes to ensure standard methodologies for complex control design
- —Lead cross-functional initiatives to develop complex specifications reflecting user and business requirements
- —Assess workflows and reporting relationships to improve team efficiency
- —Ensure work activities comply with Westinghouse procedures and communicate with all management levels
Qualifications
- —Bachelor of Science degree in STEM-related field
- —7+ years of professional experience in engineering/technology-based industries
- —Minimum 5 years in an engineering design or development role
- —Minimum 2 years in people management or project management with resource direction responsibilities
- —Demonstrated understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action
