About this role
Supervisory role overseeing operational chemistry programs at a nuclear power plant, including radiological, water chemistry, and QA/QC disciplines. Responsibilities include coaching chemistry staff, maintaining NRC regulatory compliance, technical guidance on chemistry issues, and supporting emergency preparedness.
Responsibilities
- —Coach and mentor Chemists in Laboratory Instrumentation QA/QC, Radiological Effluent and Environmental Programs, Raw Water Chemistry, and Boiling/Pressurized Water Chemistry
- —Provide technical guidance for program Chemists in resolving chemistry issues and supporting decision-making
- —Lead and support chemistry-related projects
- —Participate in and support the Chemistry Technician Training Program to ensure technical education
- —Serve as interface with other departments for schedule reviews and troubleshooting
- —Participate in Emergency Preparedness rotation and respond to call-outs as required
- —Advocate for chemistry equipment maintenance and material condition support
- —Represent Chemistry Manager at Clean Energy Center leadership meetings
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage activities as directed
Qualifications
- —High School diploma/GED with 9 years overall experience (including 3 years related experience, 1 year nuclear power plant, 0.25 years on-site) OR
- —Associate's degree with 7 years overall experience (including 3 years related experience, 1 year nuclear power plant, 0.25 years on-site) OR
- —Bachelor's degree with 5 years overall experience (including 3 years related experience, 1 year nuclear power plant, 0.25 years on-site)
- —Meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Standard requirements for nuclear power plant personnel selection and qualification
- —Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access as applicable
- —Favorable medical examination and/or testing per position duties
Desired
- —Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 5 years chemistry experience in operating nuclear power plant
- —Supervisory experience
- —Radiochemistry Supervisor ANSI qualifications (Radiochemistry Training and 2 years Gamma Spectroscopy)
