Structural Civil Engineer position at Xcel Energy's Monticello Nuclear Generating Station (Monticello is a 545-MW Boiling Water Reactor). Support safe and reliable plant operations through engineering design, modifications, troubleshooting, and maintenance of design basis documentation. Opportunities for technical leadership and mentoring at Engineer I, II, or Senior levels depending on experience.

Responsibilities

—Lead or oversee development of plant modifications and plant program documents
—Perform complex troubleshooting of nuclear power plant systems, calculations, and engineering evaluations
—Determine operability, maintain design basis documents, and resolve Corrective Action issues
—Monitor and evaluate preventative maintenance; identify performance issues and improvement opportunities
—Provide technical leadership for other engineers and designers; lead quality improvement initiatives
—Develop schedules and utilize work management tools for engineering activities at subject matter expert level
—Represent the company at industry events and department meetings
—Assume emergency response duties as required

Qualifications

—Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from ABET accredited college/university
—For Engineer I: 0–2 years of experience
—For Engineer II: 2 years of experience
—For Senior Engineer: 8+ years engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in nuclear generating plants and at least one engineering discipline area
—Ability to obtain and maintain qualifications for unescorted access to nuclear power plants
—Maintain nuclear 'fitness for duty' during off-hours if on call or designated emergency response duty
