Director-level nuclear engineering leadership role at Xcel Energy overseeing fleet operations across multiple nuclear facilities. This position leads the Operate, Maintain and Support organization, with accountability for strategic direction, regulatory compliance, risk management, subordinate development, and stakeholder engagement with the NRC and INPO.

Responsibilities

—Provide strategic leadership and oversight for assigned nuclear functional areas within the Operate, Maintain and Support organization
—Ensure rigor of processes and effectiveness in evaluating risk significance for proper decision making
—Develop subordinates through effective oversight, coaching on talent management, human performance assessments, and performance management
—Demonstrate and enforce nuclear safety leadership, including observing safety rules, encouraging safe work behaviors, and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors
—Oversee development and management of O&M and capital budgets for department
—Provide direction for development of nuclear training budget, staffing plans, and excellence plans
—Provide area input for plant outages and assure adequacy of resources and logistics for safe and efficient outage implementation
—Develop and maintain effective relationships with INPO, NRC, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders
—Perform Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties based on site-specific assignments

Qualifications

—Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
—15 years of experience in design, construction, maintenance or operation of power plants or similar facilities
—10 years of experience in the nuclear power field
—8 years of management experience
—Meet ANSI N18.1-1971 requirements for certain positions
