Mechanical or Electrical Engineer I/II - Monticello, MN

Entry-level mechanical or electrical engineering position at Xcel Energy's Monticello nuclear station (PWR). Work on plant engineering projects under supervision while completing NRC nuclear engineering qualifications within your first two years. Candidates must be eligible for unescorted nuclear facility access and able to assume emergency response duties.

Work with decreasing supervision on specific portions of engineering assignments. Apply standard engineering practices, adjust and correlate technical data, and identify discrepancies. Develop work schedules and project estimates; analyze system reliability and deficiencies. Use work management tools to support site and fleet operational goals. Participate in planning, engineering, and operational study teams. Attend plant and industry meetings.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related ABET-accredited field. Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access credentials to nuclear power plants and clear background/drug screening. Eligible to assume emergency response duties and reside within 30–60 minutes of Monticello station. Engineer I: 0–2 years experience; Engineer II: 2+ years experience.

Monticello, MN; on-site role. Must reside within 30–60 minutes of facility. If on-call for emergency response, must maintain nuclear fitness-for-duty standards during off-hours.
