Required qualifications
- 20+ years of experience as a licensed Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator in a Commercial Nuclear Power Plant (PWR), or experience as a qualified SRO Instructor
- Held a Senior Reactor Operator License for a Power Reactor in the past 5 years OR been an active Operating Procedure Writer for a Power Reactor in the past 5 years
- Detailed knowledge of PWR operation, systems, components, and procedures
- U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status required
About this role
Contract role for a formerly licensed Senior Reactor Operator supporting Westinghouse's nuclear operations team. Apply expertise in Emergency Operating Procedures, PWR systems, and reactor design across the operating fleet (AP1000) and next-generation reactors (AP300 SMR, eVinci microreactor). Focus areas include commissioning, procedure development, and control room validation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and update Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Normal Operating Procedures (NOPs), and Abnormal Operating Procedures (AOPs) for PWR fleet and new reactor designs
- Validate operational scenarios in control room simulators before training reactor operators and implementing procedures in plants worldwide
- Develop test procedures supporting commissioning of new plants to demonstrate functionality of components and systems from pre-op testing through startup phases
- Develop plant operation and operating procedures for Westinghouse eVinci Micro Reactor and AP300 Small Modular Reactor designs
- Collaborate with new plant designers and licensed reactor operators to define safe and efficient nuclear plant operation
- Support commissioning of new plants worldwide as an author of operating and test procedures
- Integrate operating experience and new scenarios into procedures for the operating fleet
- Work with customers and internal teams to develop FSGs and related operational documentation
