Senior Reactor Operator - Nuclear Operations
About this role
Senior Reactor Operator role supporting Westinghouse's nuclear operations across operating PWR fleets and next-generation reactors (AP1000, AP300 SMR, eVinci microreactor). You will leverage your licensed SRO experience to develop and validate operating procedures, test protocols, and commissioning documentation for plants worldwide.
Responsibilities
- —Apply integrated plant operations knowledge to develop and update control room operating procedures for normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions
- —Validate operational scenarios in control room simulators before training reactor operators and implementing in plants globally
- —Develop test procedures supporting commissioning of new plants (AP1000) to demonstrate component and system functionality from pre-op through startup phases
- —Develop plant operation and operating procedures for Westinghouse eVinci Micro Reactor and AP300 Small Modular Reactor designs
- —Author NOPs, AOPs, EOPs, FSGs, and related operational documents for the operating fleet and new designs
- —Collaborate with plant designers and licensed reactor operators to define safe and efficient nuclear plant operation methods
- —Support commissioning of new plants worldwide as an operating and test procedure author
- —Integrate operating experience and new scenarios into procedures for both the operating fleet and next-generation reactors
Qualifications
- —20+ years experience as a licensed Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator in a Commercial Nuclear Power Plant (PWR), or qualified SRO Instructor experience
- —Held a Senior Reactor Operator License for a Power Reactor in the past 5 years OR been an active Operating Procedure Writer for a Power Reactor in the past 5 years
- —Detailed knowledge of PWR operation, systems, components, and procedures
- —U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status (sponsorship not available)
Location
Contract role based at Westinghouse World Headquarters in Cranberry Twp, PA; remote candidates considered
