Sr Environmental Specialist OPS
About this role
Sr Environmental Specialist OPS manages day-to-day environmental compliance at Constellation nuclear facilities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations covering air/water pollution control, waste management, spill response, emergency planning, and regulatory reporting. The role conducts environmental assessments, leads regulatory inspections, and implements ISO 14001 Environmental Management System improvements.
Responsibilities
- —Manage plant-level environmental compliance programs including waste management, water/air pollution control, spill prevention and response, emergency planning, release reporting, and tank management
- —Conduct environmental record keeping, data analysis, report preparation, and regulatory agency notifications
- —Perform self-assessments, participate in corporate and regulatory site inspections, and lead corrective action implementation
- —Manage environmental contractors and budgets; participate in ISO 14001 EMS certification and continuous improvement activities
- —Alert facility personnel to environmental issues and promote environmental awareness and best practices
- —Support department duty coverage and outage activities as directed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, natural/physical sciences, or environmental science with 5 years related experience; OR Associate's degree with 7 years experience; OR high school diploma/GED with 9 years experience. Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental rules and their implementation. Maintain minimum access requirements and favorable medical examination per position duties.
Desired
Air quality experience and CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems) knowledge; environmental regulatory experience at power plants; water quality and DMR (Discharge Monitoring Report) preparation experience; project management experience; ISO 14001 EMS certification experience.
Location
On-site plant role with potential call-out and outage support activities.
