About this role
Site Engineer supporting the Xudapu Units 1&2 nuclear project in China. Serve as the primary technical liaison between Westinghouse and customer organizations, managing equipment commissioning, plant optimization, emergent issue resolution, and regulatory documentation (JCO/RASO). This is a growth role involving hands-on technical expertise across all aspects of nuclear plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with equipment receipt, inspection, installation, testing, commissioning, and system optimization
- Resolve emergent technical issues and serve as direct link to global Westinghouse engineering teams
- Develop Justifications for Continued Operation (JCO) and Reasonable Assurance of Safe Operation (RASO) documentation
- Support plant modifications, design optimizations, licensing matters, and refueling outage activities
- Disposition site changes, material substitutions, and operational issues
- Review and develop Technical Descriptions for Offers and Contracts
- Interface between on-shore/off-shore Westinghouse teams and customer organizations
- Ensure systematic controls, clear communications, human performance tools application, and Nuclear Safety Culture standards
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or I&C background; experience with operating nuclear power plants (Systems Engineer, Subject Matter Expert, or RO/SRO certification); significant customer-facing experience; bilingual Chinese–English capability
Location, schedule, and travel
Xudapu Units 1&2, China. 50%+ travel required; unescorted nuclear plant site access required.
