Senior Systems Engineer
About this role
Lead technical efforts in the design and implementation of safety-related Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems at Westinghouse. Develop functional logic diagrams, conduct reliability analyses, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with NRC standards and nuclear industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and review Functional Logic Diagrams and Design Specifications for safety-related I&C systems
- —Perform reliability analyses using tools such as Reliability Workbench
- —Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex nuclear system issues
- —Support project planning, scheduling, and technical risk assessments
- —Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on I&C design and implementation
- —Prepare and present detailed technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Systems, or Nuclear Engineering
- —5+ years of experience in I&C systems or safety-critical systems design
- —Proficiency in MATLAB and Python
- —Proficiency in reliability analysis tools
Desired
- —Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements (10 CFR 50, design criteria)
- —Experience with nuclear power plant I&C modernization projects
