Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar discipline. 4+ years of progressive experience in Engineering or Manufacturing environments. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including electromechanical assembly, printed circuit boards, cable assemblies, electrical cabinets, sensors, molding, testing, and inspection. Experience performing supplier evaluation and qualification. Working knowledge of Manufacturing Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Project management experience leading multiple concurrent projects. Familiarity with IPC, IEEE, ASME standards, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
About this role
Oversee fabrication and supply chain quality for electro-mechanical components used in Westinghouse nuclear products. Drive supplier performance, manage manufacturing risk, and lead supplier qualification and development activities across a geographically distributed supply base. This remote role requires technical depth in manufacturing processes, quality systems, and nuclear regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are met
- Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to guide on-time completion of critical document submittals and manufacturing activities
- Identify, escalate, and drive resolution of supplier risks through root cause analysis (RCA), corrective/preventive actions, and supplier improvement plans
- Monitor supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices) to identify and address negative trends
- Perform technical evaluations of suppliers to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, and regulatory compliance
- Develop Supply Chain Risk Mitigation Plans and evaluate procurement risk using partner input and relevant tools
- Lead supplier development, qualification activities, improvement projects, and cost reduction initiatives
- Provide regular progress reports to Project Managers, Program Directors, and SPE Leadership
Preferred qualifications
IPC or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certifications. Experience with nuclear products, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Location, schedule, and travel
100% remote with 30% travel (domestic and international) expected.
