Senior Supplier Manufacturing Engineer
About this role
Senior Supplier Manufacturing Engineer supporting fabrication of electro-mechanical components for nuclear power plants at Westinghouse supplier facilities. Oversee supplier compliance with nuclear quality and technical standards, manage supplier oversight plans, and lead supplier development activities across Westinghouse's nuclear supply chain.
Responsibilities
- —Ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved through supplier oversight; develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans
- —Lead completion of critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance points, inspections, and tests
- —Coordinate activities across Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight functions to drive supplier performance
- —Identify and escalate supplier issues, risks, and quality events with coordinated resolution and corrective action implementation
- —Monitor supplier performance metrics including On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, and Deviation Notices to identify trends and implement improvement plans
- —Evaluate procurement risk and develop security of supply risk mitigation plans
- —Oversee internal and external corrective action requests, perform cause analyses, and verify completion of preventative and corrective actions
- —Perform technical evaluations of suppliers to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, and regulatory compliance
- —Identify gaps between supplier evaluations and Westinghouse requirements; establish and implement plans to close gaps
- —Lead supplier development and qualification activities for new products, supplier improvement projects, and cost reduction efforts
- —Review and disposition supplier process documents, process capability analyses, and measurement system analyses
- —Work with Design Engineering to ensure clarity of engineering drawing requirements and communication to suppliers
- —Support implementation of Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Design for Assembly, and Design for Manufacturing principles
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering
- —4+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing
- —Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE, inspection, and testing)
- —Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification
- —Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans and PFMEAs
- —Experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures
- —Experience reading drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
Desired
- —Manufacturing manager experience
- —Experience in Electrical Equipment, Nuclear, or adjacent industries
- —Experience with nuclear products and standards
