Senior Quality Engineer - Electrical, Instrumentation & Control
About this role
Senior Quality Engineer within Westinghouse's Quality Programs and Oversight team in Västerås, Sweden. Monitor quality and compliance of electrical components and instrumentation & control (I&C) equipment for nuclear operations, support project teams, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- —Perform quality inspections and tests of electrical components and I&C equipment for nuclear applications
- —Review control plans, final control documentation, and non-conformance reports; implement corrective quality measures
- —Review technical documentation and quality requirements in purchase orders for components and services
- —Issue Certificates of Conformity (CoC) and audit certificates for final documentation of electrical components, I&C systems, and installations
- —Participate in supplier audits and internal business process audits
- —Support continuous improvement of quality management systems in nuclear projects
- —Promote quality awareness and provide guidance to project teams on nuclear quality control best practices
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control technology, quality management, or equivalent
- —10+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control in manufacturing of electrical components, circuit boards, or electromechanical systems
- —Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying quality standards
- —Full professional proficiency in Swedish and English (spoken and written)
Desired
- —Direct experience in nuclear industry quality programs
- —Experience with performance management systems including ISO 9001, PAKT, KBE, TBE, or YVL standards
- —Knowledge of CE marking, EU directives, electrical safety regulations, and standards (IEEE, IEC)
Location
Västerås, Sweden office with remote work flexibility (1–2 days/week); approximately 40 days/year travel to supplier and customer sites.
