Senior PSA Engineer
About this role
Westinghouse seeks a Senior PSA Engineer to perform probabilistic safety assessments for operating nuclear power plants and new reactor designs. In this role, you'll develop risk models for internal/external events, low-power/shutdown operations, and support global customers and regulatory bodies in making operational and licensing decisions.
Responsibilities
- —Perform engineering evaluations of nuclear power plant systems including risk modeling for internal and external events, multiple hazard types, and low-power/shutdown operational modes
- —Support both domestic and international operating plants as well as new reactor designs in the development phase
- —Develop and apply PSA models to provide operators with risk insights for operational, financial, and regulatory decisions
- —Collaborate with global project teams across multiple roles (model author, technical mentor, independent verifier) to meet schedule and budget objectives
- —Present technical findings and interface directly with global customers and regulatory bodies on PSA results
- —Mentor junior engineers on PSA methodologies and industry best practices
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
- —5+ years of nuclear industry experience with emphasis on PRA/PSA work
- —Proficiency with PRA/PSA modeling tools (Risk Spectrum, CAFTA)
- —Knowledge of NUREG-CR-6850 and regulatory guidance
- —Fluent English with strong technical report writing skills

- —Experience with international project delivery
Location
Hybrid role based in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Spain; up to 10% international travel to support customers in Europe, North America, and Asia
