Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Nuclear preferred) or Supply Chain. Minimum 5+ years of procurement, engineering, or project execution experience in a regulated or industrial environment. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required. Nuclear or regulated industry experience, supplier execution and contract management support, and familiarity with ASME and NQA-1 requirements required.
About this role
Senior Procurement Engineer at Westinghouse responsible for independent execution of procurement scopes, managing supplier delivery and performance to meet cost, schedule, quality, and technical requirements. This hybrid role serves as the primary interface between suppliers and cross-functional engineering, quality, and project teams on safety-related nuclear components and services.
Responsibilities
- Complete procurement activities across assigned scopes from pre-purchase order through delivery, ensuring alignment with schedule, quality, and technical requirements
- Manage daily supplier execution and monitor performance including capability, capacity, and manufacturing readiness; identify and escalate risks
- Understand and communicate technical, safety-related, and nuclear quality requirements (ASME, NQA-1); support preparation and review of safety-related requisitions
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Commercial, and Supplier Performance teams to resolve issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain commitments
- Execute RFx activities including supplier engagement, bid evaluation, and clarification; develop sourcing strategies and support commercial evaluations and negotiations
- Manage assigned purchase order lifecycle activities (placement, tracking, changes, issue resolution) and support cost analysis to identify cost drivers and improvements
- Maintain working relationships with suppliers and serve as primary contact for assigned scopes
