Senior Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer at Westinghouse Global Headquarters (Cranberry Township, PA). Responsible for design basis safety analysis of nuclear reactors, with focus on Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA). Develop thermal-hydraulic models, correlations, and analysis methodologies; perform realistic safety analysis using statistical techniques; manage 50.46 reporting and plant-specific licensing basis.
Responsibilities
- Development and assessment of models and correlations for two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena prediction
- Use statistical techniques for realistic nuclear reactor safety analysis and contribute to development of analysis methodologies for design basis accidents
- Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- Maintain cognizance of plant-specific licensing basis and Analysis of Record; manage 10 CFR 50.46 reporting
- Serve as point of contact for plant-specific LOCA inquiries from internal and external customers
- Mentor newer engineers and identify process improvements
- Participate on project teams, contribute to project schedule generation and cost estimates
- Develop and deliver technical presentations on project status, problem resolution, and engineering recommendations
