Senior Mechanical Engineer
About this role
Senior Fluid Systems Engineer at Westinghouse performing thermal-hydraulic and piping network engineering design and analysis for advanced reactors and mega-projects. Develop equipment sizing requirements, identify and solve technical problems, and collaborate across engineering disciplines including construction, I&C, electrical, and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- —Develop pump, valve, heat exchanger, HVAC, and other equipment sizing requirements for plant design or modifications
- —Identify technical problems and propose solutions; support senior engineering personnel in design and analysis efforts
- —Perform thermal-hydraulic analysis and piping network engineering for assigned projects
- —Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings to present technical materials and design justifications
- —Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations project teams on design integration
- —Manage work within established scope, budget, and schedule requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering; minimum 5 years of applicable experience in thermal-hydraulic or fluid systems engineering; proficiency with MathCad, MATLAB, or VBA; familiarity with testing and test analysis; ability to travel.
Desired
Experience with ASME or API standards; experience with design change control or requirements management tools; Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer License.
Location
Hybrid at Westinghouse Global Headquarters, Cranberry Township, PA (2 days/week on-site); travel required; no relocation assistance.
