Required qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering; 4+ years engineering experience; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma; strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control; CAD software and engineering tools proficiency; SAP knowledge (production, requisitioning, material master data); experience writing technical equipment procurement requirements and specifications.
About this role
Senior Manufacturing Engineer supporting Westinghouse's Parts Business in production of machined parts and large circuit breakers for nuclear instrumentation, control, and electro-mechanical systems. Provide technical expertise to the production shop floor, drive process improvements, and support fulfillment of nuclear-qualified components.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to production shop floor, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime
- Analyze manufacturing processes and workflows to identify improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality
- Design, select, and oversee installation of new manufacturing equipment
- Ensure equipment maintenance and efficient operation
- Resolve obsolescence issues through part redesign using current manufacturing technology
- Facilitate disposition of quality issues on purchased and manufactured parts
- Prepare and review technical packages including drawings, specifications, and procurement requirements
- Provide technical input during proposal process
- Work cross-functionally with quality engineering, supply chain, marketing, customer service, and suppliers
Location, schedule, and travel
New Stanton, PA facility; on-site 5 days per week
