Senior Instructor Electrical develops and delivers performance-based technical training for nuclear power generation and craft employees, with emphasis on electrical systems instruction, safety culture, and Human Performance tools. The role blends classroom instruction with hands-on shop training at Dominion generating sites.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, implement, and evaluate performance-based technical training for power generation and craft employees with focus on electrical instruction
  • Deliver instructor-led training in classroom settings and psychomotor on-the-job training in shop settings
  • Supervise trainees in classroom and shop activities; evaluate knowledge, behavior, and retention of concepts
  • Teach specific technical subjects, administer tests, and evaluate hands-on performance tasks
  • Coordinate with site supervision to assess trainee progress and provide feedback within structured training programs
  • Serve as subject matter expert in consulting role with generating sites and other Power Generation groups
  • Create and revise technical training materials including instructor guides, manuals, presentations, shop guides, tests, and training videos
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and revise materials accordingly
  • Identify participants with learning difficulties and provide tutoring or alternative learning methods
  • Travel to different locations to obtain equipment pictures, drawings, and information for training materials
  • Instruct classes offsite at generating locations when necessary

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Military service background (E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6 ranks)
  • Prior nuclear power plant operating experience or equivalent technical background

Location, schedule, and travel

Chester, Virginia (hybrid 3-2 schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote); up to 25% travel to other generating sites
