Experience leading OJT/TPE modules for specific discipline(s)
Formal approval and observation credentials for conducting OJT and/or TPE
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience
High school diploma or GED minimum
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with personal computers and ability to operate plant systems and controls
Instructor level: 5+ years related experience (prefer 4+ years in INPO-accredited training program); OR Associate's degree plus 7 years experience; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years experience
Senior Instructor level: 12+ years related experience; OR Certified Instructor status with 5+ years experience; OR RO/SRO license with 5+ years experience; OR Sr Instructor Training Certification from Dominion with 5+ years experience
About this role
Develop and deliver chemistry technical training for nuclear power plant operators, electricians, technicians, and health physics staff across classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job settings. Requires deep expertise in nuclear chemistry and ability to design, implement, and evaluate training in compliance with NRC regulatory requirements and ANSI/ANS standards.
Responsibilities
Develop instructional materials for chemistry technical training programs across multiple nuclear power station roles
Conduct training delivery in classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job training (OJT) settings
Design, implement, and evaluate training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements (ANSI/ANS standards, NRC compliance)
Lead and conduct On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Task Performance Evaluations (TPE) modules
Maintain and update training programs to meet regulatory compliance standards
Interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers
Analyze complex chemistry training topics and develop appropriate instructional approaches (Senior level role)
Demonstrate operation of plant systems and controls as required for instruction
Preferred qualifications
In-depth knowledge of instructional design theory and System Approach to Training (SAT)
INPO-accredited technical training program completion
Instructor Training Certification from Dominion Energy
Certified Instructor credential
Bachelor's degree in Education, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
Senior Operator's license or equivalent certification for simulator instruction
Location, schedule, and travel
On-site at nuclear power stations; up to 25% cold exposure conditions.
