Senior Fluid Systems Engineer
About this role
Senior Fluid Systems Engineer at Westinghouse designing thermal-hydraulic and piping systems for nuclear energy projects. This hybrid role (70% on-site, 30% remote) reports to the ANAV Supervisor Engineer and requires 10+ years of fluid systems engineering experience with expertise in thermal-hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, and multi-discipline coordination across nuclear plant design and modifications.
Responsibilities
- —Perform thermal-hydraulic and piping network engineering design for nuclear systems
- —Develop pump, valve, tank, heat exchanger, HVAC, and other equipment sizing requirements for plant design or modifications
- —Identify technical issues and propose practical solutions for assigned projects
- —Support engineering staff in design and analysis activities
- —Coordinate with I&C, electrical, civil/structural, licensing, and layout disciplines across diverse projects and design changes
- —Communicate progress, technical challenges, and results to technical leads and project management
- —Collaborate with construction, I&C, electrical, and operations teams internally and externally
- —Participate in customer, vendor, and regulatory meetings, presenting technical material and design decisions
- —Deliver work within defined scope, budget, and schedule constraints
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering
- —10+ years of experience in fluid systems engineering or similar role
- —Proficiency with thermal-hydraulic analysis tools: MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, FATHOM, or ARROW
- —Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ASHRAE, NFPA, or API standards
- —Fluent in Spanish and English
- —Ability to travel to Westinghouse and customer sites, including international travel
Desired
- —Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering
