Senior Fluid Systems Engineer
About this role
Senior Fluid Systems Engineer at Westinghouse developing and overseeing technical implementation of fluid system design and plant support for nuclear energy solutions. Reports to Manager of Systems Engineering & Special Programs at Cranberry Township, PA. Responsible for complex fluid systems across PWR and BWR platforms, including ECCS, chemical & volume control, residual heat removal, and containment spray systems.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and oversee technical implementation of fluid system design and plant support
- —Identify problems and propose solutions to assigned or innovated projects and tasks
- —Plan and implement complex training programs to develop business and plant programs
- —Work with engineering personnel to set objectives and resolve multiple design, analysis, and program efforts
- —Communicate nature and status of work to technical leads and management
- —Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings to present technical materials and justify services and product designs
- —Make data-based decisions, work independently, and communicate with plant management, WEC staff, and stakeholders
- —Promote Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) and Westinghouse's Nuclear Safety Culture
Qualifications
- —Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear preferred)
- —5+ years of applicable engineering experience
- —Experience with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, or similar programming tools
Desired
- —Professional Engineer (PE) License
- —Design and analysis experience with Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS), Chemical & Volume Control System (CVCS), Residual Heat Removal System (RHR), Reactor Coolant System (RCS), and Containment Spray System (CSS)
- —Experience with ASME Section XI and Section III
- —Experience at nuclear power plant, testing, or construction facility
- —Familiarity with testing and testing analysis
- —Fluid system and thermal-hydraulic design experience (pump, valve, heat-exchanger sizing, fluid network analyses)
- —Knowledge of PWR and BWR designs and advanced reactors (AP1000)
- —Experience with motor-operated valve (MOV), air-operated valve (AOV), and check valve programs

Hybrid (typically 2 days/week on-site) at Cranberry Township, PA
